Most of the vacant jobs are in care and social care, the authority states in a press release. Nurses in particular are in demand.
“This confirms what we have seen in our forecasts, that there are still many jobs to look for despite the recession,” says Alva Johansson, labor market analyst at Arbetsförmedlingen, in a press release.
In the job bank, there are currently more than 16,000 vacant summer jobs for assistant nurses, including in home care and in nursing homes. More than 5,000 vacancies are also available for those who can imagine working as a care assistant.
Outside of healthcare, the most in-demand categories are correctional officers, with roughly 2,600 vacancies, as well as shop assistants in specialist trade – a category where 2,047 vacancies are currently advertised for the coming summer.
