Wild Hearts will be released for Xbox and PS5 in 8 hours

The first players are already playing Wild Hearts. The official release for PC is today, February 16th – but fans on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S will have to wait until 00:00. However, a trick grants you earlier access.

What is this trick? Wild Hearts has been available for PC since 16:00 GMT, but if you want to play on your console you’ll have to wait. There the release is only at 00:00.

As users found out on reddit, you can already play Wild Hearts on Xbox if you set your Xbox’s region to New Zealand. Because it’s already after 4 a.m. there and the release has already taken place.

How do I change my region? All you have to do is follow a few simple steps to change your region on Xbox. The official support article states:

  • Sign in to your console
  • Press the Xbox button on your controller to enter the guide
  • Navigate to Profile & Systems > Settings > System > Language & Location
  • Select New Zealand from the list (or any other country where it is after 00:00)
  • Save and reboot

    • According to many users on reddit, the trick works perfectly, others complain that it doesn’t work for them. There is therefore no guarantee. But if you want to play now and are not on the PC, it’s worth a try.

    PS5 can also play earlier – but only to a limited extent

    Does this also work on PS5? Theoretically, you can also change your region on the PlayStation. But you must have created your profile in the corresponding region. This is usually not that easy, which is why the trick doesn’t work here.

    Nevertheless, you can already gamble on the PS5 – just not as easily and with some restrictions.

    How can I play early on PS5? Wild Hearts offers a 10-hour demo version, which requires an EA Play subscription. In our guide we explain how you can play the Wild Hearts demo. However, note the following:

  • you can only gamble for a total of 10 hours
  • you need an EA Play (or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate) subscription to access it
  • if you use EA Play, the demo ends as soon as you reach the city of Minato – after about 1-2 hours
  • if you use EA Play Pro, you can continue playing after you reach Minato

    • You can simply take over your score for the release at 12:00 a.m., so continue playing seamlessly where you left off. If you start now and still have all the hours left, you can basically gamble continuously.

    You can theoretically play the release version beforehand on PC or Xbox, but there is no cross-progression in Wild Hearts. So if you switch to PlayStation later, all progress will be lost.
