Norway’s Marte Olsbu Røiseland and Johannes Thingnes Bø took gold. It was Bø’s fifth straight gold medal in the WC. Austria, with Lisa Theresa Hauser and David Komatz, took silver. Italy, with Lisa Vittozzi and Tommaso Giacomel, took bronze.
Sebastian Samuelsson came into the final shooting with half a minute up to the top three, but was invited into the medal fight when Giacomel was forced into two penalty rounds. But Samuelsson couldn’t keep his nerves under control and went on a penalty round himself, which allowed Italy to stay away.
