A man has been arrested on probable cause suspected of involvement in the high-profile acquittal of Milad Safi, 20, in Norrköping, the Prosecutor’s Office writes in a press release on Thursday morning.
The arrested person is suspected of aggravated weapons offences, aggravated unlawful threat to an official and promotion of escape, according to preliminary investigation leader Jan Staaf. The person was arrested on Wednesday evening.
It was on Wednesday last week that Milad Safi was released in connection with a visit to the Vrinnevis Hospital in Norrköping. The 20-year-old, who was serving a ten-year prison sentence for attempted murder, disappeared in a red car with two armed men.
On Thursday last week, the man was wanted internationally.
