One of the crimes Gendron has pleaded guilty to and is being sentenced for is a racially motivated act of terrorism, TT writes.
– I did something terrible that day. I shot and killed people because they were black, Gendron said before the verdict, according to the report Reuters.
– I hope they keep you alive so you have to suffer with the thought of what you did for the rest of your life, said a relative of one of the victims at the trial.

Air raids sounded over Kiev during Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s visit.
Ukraine stated in the afternoon that it shot down six enemy balloons.

He met Volodymyr Zelenskyj, talked about the EU – but also drove a truck.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson’s visit to Ukraine’s capital was full of momentum.
He also inaugurated Scania’s new shelter located next to the plant in Kiev.
– It is a rather peculiar situation for those who work in Ukraine with dramatic and difficult circumstances. The prime minister was there to inaugurate the new shelter together with our national leader, says press manager Erik Bratthall.
97 percent of the Russian army is now in Ukraine
97 percent of the Russian army is now in Ukraine. This is what British Defense Minister Ben Walles says in an interview with BBC ahead of a NATO meeting in Brussels to discuss more aid efforts to Ukraine.
– It has been at enormous cost to the Russian army. We now estimate that 97% of the Russian army – of the entire Russian army – is in Ukraine, says Ben Walles.
Despite that, Russia has not managed to “break through” the Ukrainian defenses, Wallace believes.
But Ukraine no longer has the upper hand in terms of the number of soldiers.
It worries the EU, which the Union’s head of foreign affairs Josep Borrell raised during a meeting in the EU Parliamentt on Wednesday when he also called on the Union to continue sending weapons to Ukraine.
Even NATO’s secretary general is concerned about the new Russian offensive, Danish reports Tv2.
– What Russia lacks in quality, they try to compensate for in quantity. Their training and equipment are not at the same level as Ukraine’s. But they have several strengths. And Russia is ready to send in troops, and they are ready to suffer great losses, says Jens Stoltenberg, according to Tv2.
