The new MMORPG Corepunk featured an hour of new gameplay, focusing on crafting and gathering tasks. The new video material is really well received by the fans and once again ignites hype for the upcoming game.
What kind of game is Corepunk? Similar to Lost Ark, Corepunk relies on the isometric perspective. It puts you in an exciting fantasy world with post-apocalyptic influences paired with cyberpunk science fiction. Graphically, it relies on a more comic-like style.
You can also expect a lot from the upcoming MMORPG in terms of gameplay, the first beta of which was already announced for summer 2020. However, this had to be postponed several times. On the one hand because of Corona, on the other hand because the developer studio behind Corepunk is based in Ukraine.

What’s new? After over a year of radio silence on Corepunk’s YouTube channel, the developers shared over an hour of new gameplay on February 14th. The main focus there is on crafting and gathering resources.

As you get better, you get worse
How does crafting work? Corepunk relies on a rather unusual crafting system, which forces you to specialize. You can basically learn all professions, but you have to make a decision.
As you level up a profession, you gain efficiency points for it. However, these points are distributed across all possible crafting specializations. So, if you want to be a genius armorer and build the best armor, you can’t make the best weapons at the same time.
This means that as your efficiency in your chosen profession increases, the efficiency of the profession you haven’t used the longest will automatically decrease.
In total there should be 4 different professions in Corepunk. Especially with friends, it makes sense if you focus on one at a time. Matching the 4 professions, there are also 4 different raw materials that you can mine in the world.
What else has been announced? In addition to the deeper insight into the raw materials and professions, the developers have also revealed what else they have been working on lately. Above all, bug fixing and the optimization of existing features were mentioned. In addition, the backend should now be more stable and run better.
Furthermore, there should still be a closed beta, but there is no new date for it yet. But once the game is live, it will receive a major update every quarter.
