The man was arrested after one of the partner’s friends reported him to the police, and has been in custody since May 2022. According to the district court, for several years he has “systematically” subjected the partner to gross violations and abuse and broken down her ability to resist.
He has also let others have sex with their partner for payment.
The evidence against him consists of testimonies from the partner and several other people, as well as mobile chats and video clips.
Witnesses describe in questioning how the man had his partner in an “iron grip” and under constant surveillance. The woman herself states that the man threatened her with violence or that he would take their common child if she did not do as he said.
The man denies any crime and has explained his actions with an interest in BDSM sex. However, the district court concludes that he used the “practice” to “mistreat and humiliate the partner”.
He is convicted of three counts of aggravated rape, rape, aggravated pimping, pimping, child pornography offences, doping offenses and serious violation of women’s rights.
The penalty is ten years in prison. He must also pay damages to his partner of just under SEK 680,000. Another person is sentenced to daily fines for four cases of buying sex.
