Arrival of Islamic cemetery in Amersfoort still uncertain mosques may

In several places in the Netherlands there is an increasing demand for Islamic burial with perpetual burial rights. Although earlier generations with an Islamic background still wanted to be buried in the country of birth, the new generation increasingly indicates that they want a final resting place in the Netherlands.

At the moment there are a few sections available for Islamic burial, but the SvAM reports that this does not meet the requirements. Although deceased Muslims are buried there according to the regulations, eternal grave rest is not possible there. For this reason, Amersfoort Muslims move to Almere, Zuidlaren and Arnhem for funerals.
