(Finance) – The European Union is preparing a new package Of sanctions against Russia for the invasion of Ukraine and this time it would be ready to force the banks to reveal information about the activities of the Central Bank of Russia. This would be a first step in evaluating the options on the table that would potentially allow the EU-bound funds of Russian state-controlled financial institutions to be used to help reconstruction of Ukraine once the conflict is over.

With the tenth package of sanctions, according to Brussels’ intentions, they would also like to introduce large ones restrictions commercial on assets used by the Russian Armed Forces: technologies, components, heavy vehicles, electronics and rare earths. The proposed sanctions also include an extension of the suspension of broadcast licenses of the Russian state-controlled media accused of spreading propaganda and manipulating and distorting facts, targeting the EU and its neighbors, the ban on citizens Russians to hold positions in the governing bodies of European infrastructure operators and critical entities and, finally, a ban on the supply of gas storage capacity to citizens and residents of Russia, as well as to entities established in Russia.
