Elon Musk: Twitter will have a new CEO before 2024
On Wednesday, Tesla founder and Twitter owner Elon Musk announced that he hopes to have found someone else to run Twitter before the end of 2023.
He said this at a summit in Dubai, reports Reuters.
Earlier, Elon Musk announced that he will step down as CEO of Twitter when he finds someone “stupid” enough to take over.

Four dead in cyclone
Four people have been found dead after Cyclone Gabrielle’s progress in New Zealand, TT reports.
According to local police, over 1,400 people have been listed as unreachable. However, the police expect that most will have escaped the cyclone, local media reports.
A third of the country’s roughly five million inhabitants are estimated to have been affected by the storm and around 10,000 people have had to leave their homes.
Prime Minister Chris Hipkins has previously described the damage caused by the storm as something the country has not experienced in a generation, the news agency reports.

During an official visit to Australia, Crown Princess Victoria states that she is not worried about the king’s upcoming surgery next Monday.

The school shooter had notes in his bag
Anthony Dwayne McRae, 43, killed three students at the University of Michigan on Monday night. According to CNN’s informant, police found a two-page note in his backpack in which he references previous school shootings.
According to the police, McRae had a previous history of both weapons-related crimes and mental illness.
The father told CNN that the son became isolated and “viciously angry” after his mother died two years ago.

US forces in Syria shot down an Iranian-made drone on Tuesday.
According to a tweet from the military command, the drone spied on the Conoco patrol base in northeastern Syria.
Vital signs from kidnapped pilot
The New Zealand pilot Phillip Mehrtens, who was kidnapped a week ago in the Indonesian part of New Guinea, appears to be alive.
A man said to be Mehrtens is seen in photos and footage released by the separatist rebel group TPNPB on Tuesday.
Mehrtens was captured after landing a single-engine plane belonging to the Indonesian airline Susi Air in Nduga province.

The former president of Brazil speaks The Wall Street Journal that he will return to Brazil in March to lead the conservative opposition.
Bolsonaro lost the presidential election last fall and has been staying in Florida, USA, since January 30, two days before his presidential term ended.
77-year-old found in rubble – after eight days
A 77-year-old man has been rescued from the mobs in Adiyaman in Turkey, reports Reuters.
It is eight days or 212 hours after the earthquake occurred, writes the news agency.
In total, 41,000 people have been confirmed dead after the earthquake.
Man stabbed in the back
A man has been stabbed in the back in Kungshamn, the police write on their website.
The man states that he was jumped on by several people who hit him on the head and scratched him with a knife-like object.
He has now been taken to hospital by ambulance.
The police have opened a preliminary investigation into attempted murder.
The bomb shelter in place in Luleå
A suspected dangerous object has been found at an address in a residential area in Luleå.
Now the bomb shelter is in place to investigate it.
– It arrived in the morning. We handle it as suspiciously dangerous and have contacted competence to investigate what it is about, says police spokesperson Elisabeth Glaas.
There is no information that residents in the area have been evacuated.
Suspected serious crime in the archipelago – operation with maritime police

A major police operation is underway in Stockholm’s archipelago after a suspected serious crime.
– A find has been made in the water that interested us. We don’t know what it is and I won’t try to describe what it looks like to you, says police spokesperson Daniel Wikdahl.
Maritime police and technicians have been called in to investigate the find.
– You try to investigate it without destroying anything. We also secure tracks, says Daniel Wikdahl.
Guest abused restaurant staff
Police and an ambulance were called to a restaurant on Södermalm in Stockholm on Tuesday, after a guest abused one of the staff.
The restaurant does not serve alcohol but the guest, a man in his 50s, brought his own drink.
“The assault was preceded by the fact that despite this, the guest was drinking beer inside the premises,” the police write.
