One of the best co-op games on Steam is just €4 – Has 92% positive reviews

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In one of the best co-op games on Steam you have to hurl your fellow players through the levels and it currently only costs €4.

What kind of game is this? Heave Ho (PC) is a co-op game from the indie development studio “Le Cartel Studios”. The title, which was released in 2019, can be experienced with up to four players in coach co-op and can be played on PC via Steam and on Nintendo Switch.

What is this offer? Heave Ho is currently reduced by 60% on Steam and costs only €3.90 instead of €9.75 until February 19, 2023.

What is the game about? In Heave Ho you have to master different levels with your fellow players and prove your coordination.

The playable characters consist of round bodies with long arms and comparatively large hands. Each level has a goal that you must reach and objects that you can grab with your long arms.

In order to reach the respective goal, you hold your fellow players by the hands and form a kind of chain. One end of this chain sticks to the objects on the map, the other end hangs in the air. In this position you gain momentum and hurl yourself from object to object until you successfully land in the target area.

A lot of coordination and collusion is required in Heave Ho, because if you fall into the abyss or hit an obstacle, you’ll find yourself back where you started. But precisely in the moments when communication fails and an attempt fails in a grandiose way, Heave Ho is the most fun.

Is there a way to play Heave Ho online? Yes! While Heave Ho doesn’t have internal multiplayer, the game is playable online with friends via Steam’s Remote Play. This also has the advantage that not every player has to own the game. Only the host needs a copy of the title.

In addition, the developers of Heave Ho stated on Twitter that the game also runs with the third-party application Parsec. The program aims to allow Coach co-op games like Heave Ho to be streamed and played with a link on a friend’s system, similar to how Steam’s remote play works.

Players have a lot of fun playing Heave Ho with friends

How good is Heave Ho? Heave Ho is doing extremely well on Steam. Overall, a strong 92% of the just over 1,500 reviews are positive. The party game is widely praised by users:

  • instasiv via Steam: “When my wife, a non-gamer, plays this game and laughs so hard she cries and asks to play it again, I know it’s a good game.”
  • DoubleDingus via Steam: “Wild couch co-op game to play with friends. It requires a high level of coordination and curiosity to play with physics. In many matches we had to laugh our heads off. It’s more funny than frustrating.”
  • Psychoholiker via Steam: “Cool game, lots of fun!”
  • Brain Storm via Steam: “It’s not much fun on your own unless you force yourself to intentionally play as fast as possible and take unnecessary risks. It’s super fun with 2-4 people. Your hands will cramp because you’re probably pressing the buttons on your controller too hard.”
  • As with every game, there are a few points of criticism with Heave Ho, but they are not very disturbing. Some players write that it’s not fun alone or without friends. However, since Heave Ho is a coach co-op game, it should be clear that it is primarily aimed at co-op gameplay.

Another point of criticism is the standard price of €9.75. If that’s too expensive for you, you can still save 60% with the offer. The biggest point of criticism, however, is the lack of an internal online mode, as some players wish they could also play the game online with their friends.

Those who are content with Steam’s remote play or the third-party application Parsec can also experience Heave Ho online with friends.

Incidentally, Heave Ho is also one of 7 games on Steam that you can play with the family
