In 1982, Pierre Mondy, Jean Poiret, Maria Pacôme and Nicole Calfan signed ” Happy Easter “, a play of boulevard which will become with the years a classic of the comedy of the French theater. The play returns today to the stage of the Marigny theater in a staging by Nicolas Briançon.
And Happy Easter! A bit premature, you might say, except that it’s the name of the play on VMDN’s screen today.
The argument is relatively simple: while his wife is away for the Easter weekend, Stéphane invites a young woman named Julie to have a last drink at his place. And wham, before the serious things really start, his wife comes home earlier than expected and surprises them together. So Stéphane is lying. And his first lie triggers another, then another, a real avalanche that will take him from Charybdis to Sylla, to the delight of the spectators.
This boulevard comedy classic is on the bill of the Marigny Theater until April 30. At the staging Nicolas Briancon also in the role of Stéphane. He is the guest of Jean-François Cadet in the company of one of his actresses Alice Dufour who plays young Julie.
