At least 916 children have been taken out of Sweden over five years, according to a survey carried out by SVT Nyheter. The majority of abductions take place in an honorable context, but increasingly also in connection with a custody dispute.
– The number is most likely even higher, says lawyer Ia Sveger, who has represented affected parents and children for 20 years.
