An emotional Mengoni dedicated the win to all women:
— There were five guys who made it to the final, so I think it’s right to dedicate the award to all the female artists who have performed fantastic songs on this stage, Mengoni said according to La Repubblica.
Marco Mengoni is no novice in this context – he participated in the 2013 Eurovision with the song “L’essenziale”, which then ended up in seventh place.
In 2021 it was the Italian Moonlight that won the competition with “Zitti e buoni”.
