Thats where the police trail ends

Convicted gang criminal Milad Safi and his liberator are still at large.

The police are now looking for a small red sports car and a white “edgy” car, both of which are of great interest.

“Witnesses have seen the red car drive aggressively into Navestad and stop in front of a staircase,” says Crime Commissioner Jan Staaf.

On Wednesday, an armed release took place outside Vrinnevisjukuset in Norrköping.

At 1:40 p.m., the Probation Service’s car parked outside the hospital. In it sat the convicted Saturdarah man Milad Safi, 20, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

Shortly afterwards, two masked and armed men arrived in a car.

The release went quickly – within 20 seconds, according to Aftonbladet’s information.

A massive police operation was launched. But on Saturday they were still at large.

– We have not found anyone, neither the object nor the perpetrators. But we pull on a lot of threads, in the end we pull on some thread that leads us to a good solution, says Detective Inspector Jan Staaf.

Milad Safi is internationally wanted. Whether he and the perpetrators are still in Sweden, or have fled the country, is unclear.

– It is an almost impossible question to answer. They can lie and print somewhere in Norrköping or be in a completely different country, says Staaf.

“Red sports car with black wing”

Two cars are of great interest to the police after the release.

– After going through witness statements see that the car that has transported this object away is a red, smaller, sportier car with a black wing on it. If you have seen that car driving very fast, or parked somewhere, we are very interested in it.

The other car is the one in which the perpetrators are suspected to have arrived at the hospital.

– It’s not quite new and not quite old, a white slightly more angular car, also a little rascal. That car has, by all accounts, transported these two people who are aggressively threatening Probation Service personnel with a gun. We don’t know where that car has gone either.

Need help

The police are still very interested in witness statements from the public.

Especially observations made around the Silver Ring in the Navestad district, around 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

– A witness has seen the red car coming at a very high speed on the E22 south, into the Navestad district. There, the car stops in front of a staircase and three people run out of the car and into the area, while a fourth person drives the car away from the area.

According to the police, witnesses have seen that one of the people ran “a little differently”, and it is suspected that it is the freedman who was wearing handcuffs at the time.

– There the tracks end.

Have you searched this area?

– It is a large area, the whole of Navestad, with many gate entrances. We need the public’s help.

“Probably they wish him well”

The lawyer Daniel Roos, who previously represented Milad Safi, said earlier this week SVT News Skåne that it is unclear whether it is “friends or enemies” who took Safi from the Correctional Service.

Jan Staaf believes in the former.

– We don’t know, we can only speculate. But it seems more likely that they are the ones who wish him well, because they run there when told to come along.

More perpetrators

The police suspect that there are more people involved than the two armed perpetrators.

– There are significantly more than two. In addition to the people in the cars, there may be people who have been on guard posts, for example. It is not at all unusual in this type of serious crime, regardless of whether it is a robbery or an exoneration.

Now the work continues with witness interviews to find ways forward.

– There are an unusually large number of people who have been to the site, there are rarely this many. We are grateful to all people who can leave the smallest detail.
