Thanks to his second place, Lars van der Haar can call himself the overall winner of the Superprestige cyclocross classification. That victory could hardly escape him, because he then had to finish six places lower than his biggest competitor Michael Vanthourenhout. However, the Belgian did not participate for a moment in order to achieve a good result in Middelkerke.
