Employees of Douwe Egberts in Utrecht will stop working for 48 hours from Sunday. They are going on strike because they are not satisfied with the six percent wage increase the company is offering. “The company has been making big profits for years. It’s ridiculous that they don’t let the employees benefit from this,” says Adem Akdeniz of the FNV trade union.
