Next week Sollefteå municipality is organizing a love week, to get more people to want to start a family. The municipality is acting because the birth rate has decreased continuously in recent years and significantly last year.
To reverse the trend, the municipality will have a theme week called “Love more – we need to become more”.
– If this trend is not reversed quite soon, it is something that we will have great trouble dealing with, says Majed Safaee, municipal strategist at Sollefteå municipality.
Lectures will be combined with more “lookout activities”, film screenings and the launch of an erotic podcast.
During the last year, the birth rate decreased in most municipalities in Sweden. In 30 municipalities, the number of births even became the lowest during the entire 2000s.
