Spanish sports are in great sadness after the terrible news.
Young talent Estela Dominguez has died in a tragic accident.
The 19-year-old was hit by a truck during a training session, reports the newspaper Marca.
It was on Thursday afternoon that the terrible thing happened. Then Spanish authorities reported that the worst thing imaginable had happened in the Spanish city of Salamanca.
19-year-old dead
Young talent Estela Dominguez was considered a great promise in Spanish cycling. She was also the daughter of the former professional figure skater Juan Carlos Dominguezwho was active in the 90s and won a stage in the Giro d’Italia.

But now Estela’s life has been extinguished far too soon. She was only 19 years old and died in a terrible accident during a training session.

Was hit
The Spanish newspaper Marca reports that a truck driver was blinded by the sun and thus saw Dominguez on the road. The teenager was hit by the truck and her life could not be saved.
“Spanish cycling has sadness. Always respect cyclists on the road,” writes the Spanish cycling federation RFEC in a statement on Twitter.

Many others are also showing their grief and sending condolences on social media following the tragic death of Estela Dominguez at a far too young age.
“There are no words to describe this. All my love to Estela Domínguez’s family and friends, especially her father with whom I shared a team in my early years. Rest in peace,” writes the former cycling star Alejandro Valverde on Twitter.
