If Game of Thrones was still too tame for you, you should take a look at Spartacus. The Starz series, which ran for three seasons and a prequel series from 2010 to 2013, is packed with explicit violence and sexual excess. Imagine a mix of Game of Thrones, 300 and Gladiator, just a bit simpler in content and with a smaller budget.
After the 3rd season there is good news for fans of the series about bloody gladiator fights and intrigues in the Roman Empire. Spartacus will be using one new sequel continued.

New Spartacus series revives brutal gladiator cult
Deadline reports that co-creator Steven S. DeKnight is working on a new Spartacus sequel series for Starz. The sequel should be one new chapter in the Roman Empire shed light on what, above all, should again lead to a lot of brutal fights, intrigues and sex.
Spartacus season 1 starred Andy Whitfield. After the star was diagnosed with cancer, production for season 2 was halted. Instead, the prequel series Spartacus: Gods of the Arena was created first. After Death of Whitfield the sequels Spartacus: Vengeance and Spartacus: War of the Damned were filmed with Liam McIntyre as the new lead actor.
