Three men and a woman were suspected in 2021 of being involved in an attempted murder, aggravated assault and aggravated robbery against three people in Timrå. The suspects are said to have been masked and armed with the accessory when they forced their way into one of the victims’ apartments.
According to the preliminary investigation protocol, the three victims must have been beaten with a hatchet and stabbed with a knife, of which one person had to seek medical care. One of the people is also charged with theft and threatening an official.
According to prosecutor Stina Sjöqvist, what exactly was behind the incident is not clear, but the people must have known each other to some extent from before. At the moment, she does not believe that the violence that was used was because the people tried to take someone’s life, therefore the people are no longer suspected of attempted murder.
Test answers were delayed
The three suspects were detained for three months before they were released. Sjöqvist believes that charges against the four suspects are brought two years later is not a very long time.
– The test answers from the NFC were delayed, so I did not consider it justified to keep the persons detained any longer, which meant that it was also not prioritized by the NFC. Since then, we have been busy and have not been able to prioritize this case, neither we nor the police, says District Attorney Stina Sjöqvist.
