The Division 2 finally wanted to bring new content in 2023 – but Season 11 has to be postponed shortly before the release

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The Division 2 has postponed Season 11 indefinitely, just days before it was due to release. However, the fans of the shooter are not surprised.

Live service games thrive on new content that players look forward to and continue playing years after the game’s release. With Ubisoft’s loot shooter The Division 2, fans are currently waiting for the release of Season 11.

The development team only announced on January 30th that the new season should appear on February 7th. But just four days later, on February 3rd, Ubisoft postponed the release of Season 11 of The Division 2.

According to the roadmap for 2022, Season 11 should have been released in December of last year. However, the development team updated the roadmap and pushed Season 11 back to spring 2023 in November.

When will Season 11 be released? Although the development team announced that the release on February 7th could not be met, a new date has not yet been announced. It is currently unclear when Season 11 should appear.

However, the team promised on Twitter that they would inform players “as soon as possible” about a new release date.

There is no official trailer for Season 11 yet, but you can take another look at Season 10 here:

Why was Season 11 postponed? As the development team behind The Division 2 announced in a statement on Twitter, some delays in the localization process led to the postponement of the Season 11 release.

During the localization process, in-game texts and dialogues, among other things, are translated so that German players, for example, can experience the game in their native language.

Here is a German translation of the statement:

In preparation for Season 11, we experienced a number of delays in our localization process, impacting the gaming experience of many players around the world. Therefore, after much discussion, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Season 11 release and live stream to a later date.

We understand this is not the update our community wants to hear and we appreciate your continued support. Because of your support, it’s important for us to offer you the best possible gaming experience with this update, and a release date of February 7th would not ensure that. We will inform you about a new release date as soon as possible. In the meantime, we would like to apologize for the inconvenience.

We look forward to releasing more information about the Season 11 stream as soon as we have it.

The Division 2 via Twitter fans mock: “Why am I not surprised?”

How are the players reacting? Some The Division 2 players reacted with derision to the news on social media and some say that they were already expecting the postponement. In addition, some Division fans show understanding for the postponement.

  • Eagleblade 85: “I don’t think this comes as a shock to anyone. If the content isn’t done, it just isn’t done, as frustrating as that is (via Twitter).”
  • Oblivionbm3: “Why am I not surprised (via Twitter)?”
  • Andreas: “To be honest, did anyone really believe that they would make it to February 7th? I don’t (via Facebook).”
  • onlycrazypeoplesmile: “Honestly I have no problem with that because yes they need to use as accurate translations as possible and if that means my fellow non-English people can play the game better then hell yeah (via reddit)!”

Another Division 2 player is jokingly comparing the loot shooter on Facebook to the upcoming survival title The Day Before, saying it’s more reliable.

The Day Before is currently being hotly debated. After a first trailer piqued the interest of many players and it became one of the most anticipated games on Steam, doubts grew.

The release was delayed several times, there was no new information and accusations arose that the game was a scam and would never be released. The developers of the game then commented:
