Britain will deliver the Challenger 2 tank so that it is in place in Ukraine in March. From the German side, it is aimed that the first delivery of the Leopard 2 tank model will take place in April.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius says he believes Germany and its allies will be able to send the first batch of tanks to war-torn Ukraine in April.

– I think we can deliver at least one battalion in the first four months of this year, he says, adding that it could happen earlier than that.

– Then we have to continue as quickly as possible, of course.

The Minister of Defense specifies that by a battalion he means 31 tanks.

Germany has previously announced that 14 Leopard 2 tanks will be sent from the country’s own military. Poland has also promised to send 14 tanks of the same model and Canada will send four.

UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also announces a timetable for when the country’s tank deliveries will take place.

Currently, Ukrainian personnel are in the UK and are being trained there to be able to use the Challenger 2 tank.

– The Ukrainian personnel who arrived last week will use Challenger 2 tanks to defend Ukrainian territory next month, said British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak during a press conference.
