At 4:17 a.m. (2:17 a.m. French time) on the night of Sunday February 5 to Monday February 6, 2023, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey and Syria. After the main shock lasting several tens of seconds, several hundred aftershocks shook Turkey again.
