Indeed, for a few hours, the first notices from the press in the world have been falling, succinct impressions because the critics’ embargo is fixed on the eve of the release, in order to avoid spoilers as much as possible. If the American press is super excited about the film, in France, it’s a bit of disillusionment, even a cold shower for some. A movie “who flirts with the Z” says Olivier Portnoi, Editor-in-Chief of FilmsActu, before adding that it is a “Marvel that we will quickly forget”. On the Large Screen side, we are not tender either, and the film is compared to “a painted cousin of Thor 4 and Star Wars”declares Geoffrey Crété, the Editor-in-Chief of the site, while Antoine Desrues of the same newspaper evokes a “kitsch, lazy and embarrassing film”. Almost everyone agrees that the French journalists present in the room at the start of the afternoon came away disconcerted in the face of a film that promised new hope. Obviously, it won’t be for a while…
1/2 Ant-Man 3 flirts with the Z, the ugliest big critters you die (even if the blob in need of a hole made me laugh) but it never seems to bother him. Between a star wars wish, the Guardians of the Galaxy and beautiful big CGI that stings the eyes, pic.twitter.com/SNsuY9IxJj

2/2 the beginning of this phase 5 is slipping, Quantumania is struggling to captivate. Remain Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas then Modok (but you are surely not ready for him). In short, a Marvel as quickly seen as forgotten despite the stakes in place. pic.twitter.com/9FUeDXp2Tf

Could have been a fun The Inside Out/Tron remix, it’s actually a painted cousin of Thor 4 and Star Wars
Sadly lame start for Phase 5 #AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania #AntMan3 #AntManAndTheWasp #Marvel pic.twitter.com/44iupZYBae

Gone are the days when Marvel wanted to (vaguely) tell something…#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania spreads its kitsch without any desire. Like Thor 4, it’s lazy and embarrassing. In the autopilot genre, Marvel has become an (im)precision missile. pic.twitter.com/ZSLYAFL1a8

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is horribly ugly. Its transparent characters, at the service of the narrative void, drown together in the heart of an imbitable digital grub. Like being trapped in a pack of multicolored haribo bears. Am exhausted. pic.twitter.com/Ntqu3xC1Ht

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania synergizes the Disney brand on an unprecedented level of cringe by transporting its superheroes into a parallel Star Wars as kitsch as it is awkward and led by a blue Darth Vader.
Huge nervous giggles on the program.
Ah and no one is ready for MODOK. pic.twitter.com/TJnxa5QskL

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania is a star wars wish that just wants to place us Kang. But it does it with such an awareness of its inconsistency and its strawberry CGi that it becomes fun. Mode “We’re ugly and we’re useless but hey, our hero is an ant-man!”

#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania : Marvel studios always more Z, we watch the show scroll by more or less giving a damn about the stakes, in anesthetized indifference. From the level of Thor 4 in a little less boring, with a ladle of “micro space opera”. Two post-gen scenes.

First film of Phase 5. It raises the stakes, it doses the humor and we refocus interests. As usual with Marvel Studios, there are 2 post-credits scenes. (And they are important).#AntManAndTheWaspQuantumania pic.twitter.com/FeE86BRWfk
