Yesterday’s earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have so far claimed more than 5,000 lives, and the number is expected to rise even more.
Intensive rescue work is underway after the earthquake disaster. There are many terrible images and stories that come out, but also small glimmers of hope. As in Jinderis north of Aleppo.
The film from the aid organization White Helmets shows how rescue workers dig out a child from the racial masses, a little girl who is alive.
Her father stands by as the rescue workers work and you can hear how they tell the girl to talk to her father – before then managing to get her out.
