Norway has clearly put its foot down about Russian skaters.
Which now stirs up really strong feelings in Russia.
– The Norwegians crawl around like disgusting cockroaches, says former biathlete Anfisa Reztsova.
Norway and its biathlon stars Johannes Thingnes Bö, Tarjei Bö, Sturla Holm Laegreid, Ingrid Landmark Dental violence and several others have really put their foot down and been clear about their position against Russian athletes. As long as Russia continues its war against Ukraine, skiers from Russia and Belarus are not welcome to the sport of biathlon.
Russian attack
Although the IOC has opened the door to the possibility of welcoming the skaters back to the Olympics again, Norway continues to close that door. Norway’s clear position has aroused really strong feelings in Russia now.

The former cross-country skier and biathlete Anfisa Reztsovawho won three Olympic gold medals during his career, is now reacting strongly and going on a hard attack against Norway in particular.
– To be honest, the Norwegians have always been against us. That applies to the Bö brothers and the others. Therefore, this is not so surprising. We are their biggest competitors and will always be stronger than them, says Reztsova according to the Norwegian newspaper VG.
– That is why they are against us participating in international competitions. That’s how it’s always been. The Norwegians crawl around everywhere like disgusting cockroaches.
“No right”
Also another old biathlete in Olga Zaitseva also vents his great criticism against the fact that Russian skaters continue to be banned in a sporting context.
– The comments from the athletes are redundant. They have no right to speak because they are turning sports into politics. But sport is not politics and the two things must be kept separate. Sport is an arena for peace, where there should be no conflicts, she says in a statement.

On Wednesday, the Biathlon World Cup begins in Oberhof, Germany, where Russian and Belarusian skiers are ported from the championship. While Norway enters as one of the big gold favorites, especially on the men’s side, where they lined up podium places during the World Cup season.
