Subzero temperatures and heavy snowstorms have affected thousands of internally displaced people in northwestern Syria. Snow and frozen mud cover the tent camp where many have difficulty getting warm.
There is also a lack of wood for bonfires and fuel to get heat in other ways.
– We have children. We were afraid that the tents would collapse on them because of the heavy snow, says Um Ahmed, an internally displaced person in Syria.
