Nuoráid lávdi is back | SVT News

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

What was new this year was that the performances were not in the hall of the people’s house but in Boaššu’s large lávvu with a big fire in the middle. The organizer was, as usual, Sáminuorra.

There were fewer performances this year, but the artists went home with the audience. Ingá Máiiá Blind from Karesuando has performed several times at Nuoraid lávdi and for her the performances there have given her a boost in her music career.

– Nuoraid lávdi is one of the first scenes where I myself stood alone and played and sang, it has been helpful to me. It is important to show that you dare to be yourself on stage, and it is also so much fun to play and sing in different places. There was a good response and it was so nice to sit together like this in a lávvu, there weren’t that many people but a nice feeling, says Ingá Máiiá Blind.

Astrid Tuorda from Randijaur outside Jokkmokk has also performed a number of times at Nuoraid lávdi. She started with a joik by John Kuoljok that touched the audience.

– It is so much fun to have a kind of platform for young people. You get to show what talent you have, singing or musician, so every chance I get, I take it. I’m always just as happy no matter what the response is, how many people there are. It doesn’t have to be a lot of people for me to feel that it’s appreciated, says Astrid Tuorda.

Both Ingá Máiiá and Astrid will perform their music during the Sami National Day on February 6. Ingá Máiiá in Hattfjelldal on the Norwegian side and Astrid in Karesuando.
