EU agrees on new efforts against Russian oil

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

The decision was taken during the Swedish presidency and must be formally adopted by the European Council.

The EU imposed an embargo on Russian crude oil that is delivered to sea in December, when a price ceiling of 60 dollars per barrel was also introduced, corresponding to around 630 kroner per barrel.

The second and expanded embargo targets refined petroleum products such as refined oil, gasoline and diesel, which are shipped by sea from Russia. The decision takes legal effect on Sunday.

At the same time, the countries of the G7 group have agreed on price caps and sanctions against Russian exports of oil.

The exact price ceiling of the affected products has not been made public. At the same time, the West does not want to cut off all Russian oil exports, as energy prices could then skyrocket.
