As sources tell reliable media site Variety, Mangold approached Gunn and Safran with a Swamp Thing idea and has since been in talks about the director’s post. He already shows with his Twitter message that he is a connoisseur of the matter. The picture he published is from the first Swamp Thing comic series, as can be seen from the signature.
