The promise from the EU: To train 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

On the same day that half of the European Commission visits Kyiv in Ukraine, Russian President Putin threatens a “war without tanks” and says that Russia has the means to respond – which could be interpreted as nuclear weapons.

– We don’t send tanks to their borders, but we have something that we can respond with and it’s not just about using armored vehicles. Everyone must understand this, the Russian president thundered in a speech in Volgograd on Thursday.

The delegation from the EU made several promises to Ukraine during their visit, including training 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers in 2023.

Russian offensive expected

The summit in Kyiv is also about how Ukraine will quickly get ready for membership in the Union. The Ukrainian government hopes for membership within two years, but the ongoing war is a major obstacle and the country is now preparing for a new Russian offensive.

– We know that Russia is gathering its forces in an attempt to take revenge, not only on Ukraine, but also on free Europe and the free world, says Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
