Poland opens to send F-16 to Ukraine

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

— If it was a decision from the whole of NATO, I would be in favor of sending these fighter jets, Morawiecki tells the newspaper.

— My assessment is based on what the NATO countries decide together.

The Western allies should cooperate on a possible delivery of fighter planes, the Prime Minister believes.

— Because this is a very serious war and Poland is not participating in the war, NATO is not participating, Morawiecki says, adding that the decision needs “strategic consideration by the entire NATO alliance.”

According to Ukraine’s leadership, advanced fighter jets, such as the American-made F-16, now top the list of desired weapons.

On Monday, US President Joe Biden announced that the country will not send F-16s to Ukraine, but the next day the president said he will speak with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyi about the latest demand for advanced weapons.

Countries in the West have recently agreed to send tanks of modern NATO standard to help the Ukrainians defend against the Russian invader.
