United ready for final – meet Isak’s Newcastle

It was basically clear even before Wednesday’s return meeting at Old Trafford. Manchester United had a reassuring 3-0 lead against Nottingham Forest – and one foot in the League Cup final.

The big club didn’t have to put in much effort and after burning several goal chances, the home team was able to break the deadlock in the second half.

Substitute Anthony Martial scored the lead goal. Just over two minutes later, midfielder Fred made it 2–0, which was also the final score.

Over two meetings, Manchester United is ahead after a total of 5-0.

In the final they face Newcastle. In other words, the Swedish meeting awaits at Wembley in London, Victor Nilsson Lindelöf and Anthony Elanga against Alexander Isak. Emil Krafth is already long-term injured.

The final will be played on February 26.
