In the whole of the Netherlands, 74,000 new homes were added last year (0.9 percent), the largest increase in the past ten years. However, the number does not yet come close to the goal of 100,000 new homes per year pursued by the government. Corrected for the number of homes that have disappeared, the Dutch housing stock will amount to approximately 8.1 million homes in 2022, according to Statistics Netherlands.
