It was on the night of January 20 that the apartment fire broke out. The cases were initially classified as arson, which is standard procedure. The police’s investigations have not found anything to indicate that the fire would have been started, and the fire is now classified as a public hazard.
– There is nothing to indicate that it would have been planted. The fire started inside the apartment, but we can’t say how, says David Helgesson, head of the police department for serious crimes.
The police are awaiting some results from the technical investigation before making a decision on how to possibly proceed.
