Want to try a new MMORPG? Then you could check out Embers Adrift: The indie MMO hosts now at the weekend a free test.
When does the free weekend run? Embers Adrift has already started its free weekend. It started on Friday January 27th at 07:00 and will run until Monday January 30th at 07:00.
In order to participate, one must register on the Embers Adrift website and then download the game. According to the developers, you can then use the time until Monday morning to try out the game as a newcomer or as a returning player to see what has improved or changed.
How much does Ember Adrift cost? If you want to continue playing after the weekend, you have to buy the game because Embers Adrift is not a F2P game:
We’ll show you what kind of game it is here.
Embers Adrift relies on subscription, PvE content and old school flair
What is Ember’s Adrift game? Embers Adrift was released on October 15, 2022, so it’s just over three months old now. The game is a PvE sandbox MMORPG that does without PvP content. Neither in the open world nor in arenas do you compete against other players.
In the game, games should create their own adventures, so little orientation is given. For example, there are no markers or a minimap. Instead, you have to read quest texts carefully and use them as a guide if you want to solve a task.
In terms of form, Embers Adrift is “old school”, but this also applies to the visuals of the game. Fans of modern, razor-sharp graphics might be disappointed here.
These quests are an important part of the game experience, just like difficult bosses or dungeons. Even in the starting area, players can expect some difficult challenges, for example in the form of powerful opponents. You can attack them at any time, but it’s not a good idea.
What kind of character you go in with is up to you. There are three classes and a character editor to choose from.

Who is the game for? MeinMMO MMORPG expert Alexander Leitsch took a close look at Embers Adrift last year.
In the end, his conclusion was ambivalent: Embers Adrift is a game full of contrasts that works best when you play in a group. He described Embers Adrift, with its free adventure approach, as a niche game that isn’t for everyone, but could be fun for groups that are keen to discover.

The subscription model and the purchase price in particular could deter players. If you still want to take a look, you still have the opportunity this weekend to invest without investing any money.
