Covid from incidence to hospitalizations declining numbers

(Finance) – Positive news on the front of the fight against Covid: sThe indicators of the trend of the pandemic in Italy are all downhill. The weekly incidence is decreasing nationwide: 65 per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 88 per 100,000 inhabitants last week.

The average Rt calculated on symptomatic cases was 0.73 (range 0.68-0.90), a decrease compared to the previous week when it was 88 and below the epidemic threshold. Intensive care goes from 2.3% to 2.1% occupancy and medical areas go down to 6.4% compared to 7.9% last week. This is indicated by the weekly monitoring of the progress of Covid in Italy by the Iss-Ministry of Health.

No region or autonomous province is classified as high risk according to the evaluation criteria of the possible evolution of Covid cases in Italy. Three are at moderate risk and are, according to ANSA, Emilia Romagna, Liguria and Puglia, and eighteen are classified as low risk.

According to the Ministry of Health, sharp decline in deaths and cases of Covid-19 in Italy in the week of 20-26 January 2023: in fact, there were 345 deceased with a variation of -30.3% compared to the previous week (495), while there were 38,168 new positive cases with a variation of -26.5% compared to the previous week (51,897). Instead, 608,732 swabs were carried out with a variation of -11.4% compared to seven days ago (687,233) and the positivity rate was 6.3% with a variation of -1.3% (the previous week was equal at 7.6%).
