The Foreign Ministry urges Swedes who are in Turkey to avoid large gatherings and demonstrations and to keep an eye on developments in the country.
The call comes after there were demonstrations outside the Swedish consulate general in Istanbul and at the embassy in the capital Ankara.
The loud Turkish protests follow Rasmus Paludan’s Koran burnings, which have sparked great anger in Turkey and many other Muslim countries.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also urges Swedes to sign up for the Swedish list and download the “Resklar” app.
Representatives of President Erdogan’s government have previously compared Paludan’s Koran burning in Stockholm to Kristallnacht in 1938.
