Need to send a large file to a contact? The free online service GoFile ticks all the boxes for a handy tool to keep on hand: free, without registration, secure, and above all unlimited. An excellent address!
When you have to send a small file to one of your correspondents, a simple email may suffice. But when the elements to be transmitted are quite large, the easiest way is to go through an online service. There are many solutions for this on the Web such as WeTransfer, Smash, GrosFichiers, etc. (or even our selection of large file transfer services) but GoFile does well. First of all, it does not require any registration. No need to remember a username or password to access it. Then it shows itself completely free. Above all, it imposes no limit on the size and number of items that pass through its servers. Nothing therefore prevents you from sending files of several tens of gigabytes to your correspondents without paying a single penny. If the file is not recovered after ten days, it will be automatically deleted from GoFile’s servers. Finally, the service is secure with strong encryption and displays very little advertising. Don’t wait to pin it to your browser’s bookmarks.
How do I send files with GoFile?
Even if it is designed in English, GoFile is very easy to use. A few seconds are enough to prepare the sending of your files. Transfer times remain quite fast but obviously depend on the size and quantity of the items you want to ship.
► Go to the GoFile page and click on the Upload Files button.
► In the new page that appears, click on Add files. Now select the file(s) to transfer.
► The transfer to GoFile’s servers starts immediately.
► At the end of the transfer, GoFile presents several information. Download link represents the download link of your file. Copy it and send it by email or messaging to the contact with whom you want to share this file.
► This link comes with a QR code. You can also send this image to your correspondent. All he has to do is scan this QR code with his smartphone to repatriate the file you shared.
Note that you can also find the items you have sent to GoFile servers (even if you do not have an account. The service uses your IP address to identify you. Click on Uploaded files in the left column then on the link MyFiles in the middle of the page. From there, it is for example possible to delete the file yourself by clicking on arrow pointing down at the end of the line. All you have to do is choose the option Delete.
