Next month, a new crew will depart for the International Space Station (ISS) in a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The exact date is given as February 26. Among the 6th crew of the Dragon capsule is Sultan al-Neyadi, who is preparing to become the second astronaut sent into space by the United Arab Emirates.
“I’M IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE voyage”
According to the information compiled from the news of Euronews Turkish, the crew answered questions at a press conference. Sultan al-Neyadi was asked if he would fast because his six-month mission coincided with the month of Ramadan. Neyadi then said that it was “within the definition of expedition” and stated that for this reason, fasting is not compulsory and may not be observed.
Neyadi also pointed out that anything could endanger the mission or put crew members at risk. Neyadi said that “it is allowed to eat a sufficient amount of food” and that those who do not feel well do not have to fast.
