After many cases of police brutality in the United States, more and more cities have adopted a new strategy. More women in uniform should reduce the number of cases of excessive violence. In Bellevue, Nebraska, the number of female police officers has already increased, but there will be significantly more.
Throughout the United States, it has been difficult to recruit new police officers for several years. But Bellevue is one of the exceptions – here there has been great interest in becoming part of the city’s growing police force.
The goal is for women to make up 30 percent of employed police officers by 2030 – the same goal that has been set by roughly two hundred other police agencies in the United States.
