Two foreign citizens have been arrested at the defense group Saab’s factory in Arboga, suspected of having taken photographs at the facility, the police say.
The men, who are in their 60s and citizens of another EU country, were later arrested for violating the Protection Act.
The Saab factory is classified as a protected object and it is therefore forbidden to photograph there.
The suspects were found at lunchtime on Wednesday by two security guards while they were taking photographs, according to police spokesperson Magnus Jansson Klarin.
– There are many people who take pictures without knowing. But what it is about, the investigation must reveal, he says.
According to Expressen, the facility in Arboga manufactures, among other things, equipment for the JAS 39 Gripen fighter aircraft.
