(Finance) – On the delicate issue of beach concessions the Government chooses the path of confrontation. And gain time with a view to finding a solution that satisfies the different souls of the majority, Forza Italia and Lega in the lead.
In today’s meeting, the government illustrated to the majority the latest news that emerged from the order of the European Court of Justice of 16 January 2023, which decided to rule without oral discussion on the preliminary reference proposed by the Lecce TAR. It was agreed to set up an inter-ministerial table, as well as to open an immediate discussion with the categories and institutions concerned. An extension is therefore necessary for the government to exercise the delegation”. This is what we read in a government note after the majority meeting on the issue of concessions for bathing establishments.
It would therefore be a matter of extending, according to reports, the exercise of the delegation on concessions by three or four months. Delegation envisaged by the competition bill (approved by the previous government) and to be exercised through implementing decrees currently by February.
Meanwhile, according to what is learned from circles of the majority, at the end of today’s meeting, the government also expressed firm criticism of the hypothesis of extending the concessions. Therefore, given the delicacy of the situation in relations with Europe, the executive would have envisaged a solution as a Forza Italia and the League to reformulate their amendments. The blue party would have replied by saying that it is waiting for the outcome of the work of the inter-ministerial table and the confrontation with the seaside resorts and will then decide what to do.
