The workers who were on site were able to be evacuated quickly and no injuries were reported. “It’s a pretty serious fire. The Planetarium was being finished. I don’t know why there was this fire and I don’t know the consequences (…) Depending on the size of the fire and the damage that will be done, we will draw the consequences. We were in the finishing touches of the attraction“, explained to France 3 Frédéric Bonnichon, president of the SEM Volcans which manages the Vulcania park. With a capacity of 314 seats and a screen 23 meters in diameter, the planetarium was to extend over 2000 m² and become the largest planetarium in France. After work estimated at 11 million euros, it was to open its doors on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Park. Park management clarified that the reopening of Vulcania will take place on March 30 as expected.
