A short time after the rescue operation, there were suspicions of serious assault in connection with the man ending up in the water at the jetty on the Kanikenäsbanken at the outer harbour. After more than 20 interrogations and door-knocking, those suspicions have cooled.
– It has not been fully investigated, but there is nothing now to indicate that someone else was out there when he ended up in the water, says Per-Olov Forsman.
Life-threatening injuries
The man is being treated at the University Hospital in Örebro, which states in a press release that the situation is life-threatening.
Per-Olov Forsman does not want to specify how long the man may have been in the water, but states that the injuries probably occurred in connection with the drowning accident itself and not before.
– Preliminary information indicates that there are no other injuries, says Per-Olov Forsman.
