The food box is now a whopping 20 percent more expensive than just a year ago. This is shown by the National Association of Pensioners, PRO’s large annual price comparison.
In the price survey, PRO selects a few goods and then looks at the price of them in several hundred stores around Sweden. The fact that food prices have increased is something customers notice.
– It’s boring. As everything becomes more expensive, it becomes more difficult to live like an ordinary person, says Tobias Häggqvist.
Usually the items in PRO’s survey are changed but in the 2022 survey it is exactly the same items as in 2021.
– Now we get it in black and white how much some goods have actually increased in price, says PRO’s chairman Åsa Lindestam.
