Hundreds of people gathered on Sunday in Luleå for a candlelight vigil in honor of the eight-year-old who is suspected of having been murdered by his father in early January.
The tragic incident has attracted a lot of attention, as the father has been granted some contact with the son – while the mother expressed fears that the son would be taken abroad. The court found that there was a risk of abduction but still agreed to contact.
The case has led to demands for changes to the law so that no more people die like the eight-year-old.
Sunday’s torchlight procession went from the social administration to Luleå district court.
At the same time, torchlight processions were also arranged in other municipalities such as Linköping and Kalix.
