Ritalin, Clobazam and Oxytocin: for many they are essential medicines that will still be in a huge shortage in 2023. Moreover, they are by no means the only medicines that are barely available. In 2022, the pharmacists’ organization KNMP reported no less than 1514 medicine shortages in the Netherlands. Pharmacists and distributors in the province are therefore at a loss. “January should normally be a quiet month, but the crowds are not decreasing,” says pharmacist Evelyn Ruiter from Baarn.
