On BBC London, the airwave war is declared! Winston Churchill assures his unfailing support for Free France against the Germans and against the French State of Marshal Pétain. A speech delivered on October 21, 1940, in response to General de Gaulle’s appeal of June 22, 1940, in which we hear the determination of the British Prime Minister to continue the war in order to bring, he said, “the triumph of the cause that made us together draw the sword.”
